Severe cold and low oxygen of Ladakh

Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is eager to occupy Indian land in eastern Ladakh, is finding his dream very heavy. The People’s Liberation Army of China has deployed about 50,000 soldiers along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh. The severe cold and low oxygen of Ladakh is now proving fatal for the Chinese soldiers. He is suffering from stomach-related ailments. Zhang Judong, the commander of the Chinese Army’s largest Western Theater Command, has died due to this disease. He was able to withstand the challenging conditions of Ladakh only for 6 months.

China’s famous newspaper South China Morning Post said in its report that just a few months ago, PLA commander Zhang had resigned from his post. The newspaper said that Zhang Judong was suffering from stomach cancer as well. Alam is that three times in the last nine months, China has had to change the commander of its Western Theater Command. The headquarters of the Western Command of the Chinese Army People’s Liberation Army is located in Tibet. The same command of the Chinese Army is stationed on the Line of Control (LaC) stretching from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh in India.

General Zhang was the favorite of the Chinese President
Chinese President Xi Jinping had earlier in June appointed General Xu Qiling to replace General Zhang. At the same time, two months later, the responsibility of Western Theater Command was handed over to General Wang Haijiang. In December 2020, General Zhang Judong was made commander. Two military sources said General Zhang Judong was 58 years old and died on October 1. General Zhang did not give any reason when he stepped down from his post in June. A Chinese military source said that both Generals Zhang and Shu were like rising stars. He was the Chinese President’s favorite general and Xi Jinping relied heavily on him.

After withdrawing from Eastern Ladakh, General Zhang was given a role on the Strategic Planning Committee in the CMC. Meanwhile, a military source said that there is a lot of concern about the health and well-being of the soldiers and commanders posted in the Western Theater Command adjoining India. He said that while General Zhang has died, General Xu, who was appointed commander after him, is also ill. The Chinese source said, ‘General Xu is also suffering from a stomach ailment. For this reason, he resigned from his post only two months after being made the commander of the Western Theater Command.

‘Senior military officers posted on the frontline are battling diseases’
Meanwhile, Zhou Chenming, a researcher at China’s Yuan Wang Military Science and Technology Institute, said in Beijing that many senior military officers and commanders posted on the frontline are battling stomach-related and other ailments. “Working conditions in low oxygen, low temperatures, high altitude areas of the Western Theater Command are very difficult,” Zhou said. Coronary heart disease has become a common problem among officers and soldiers. Let us tell you that 5 years ago, as a major change in the Chinese Army, the Western Theater Command was formed. This command is the largest in the Chinese army. The Chinese soldiers who carried out a bloody attack on Indian soldiers in the Galwan Valley last year also come under this command.
