Dubai: Saudi Arabia is planning to change its national anthem and national flag. Saudi Arabia’s non-elected advisory Shura Council on Monday voted in favor of changes to the national anthem and flag, according to state media.

However, the decisions of the Council have no bearing on the existing laws or structures. But its decision is considered important because its members are appointed by the King of Saudi Arabia and their decisions often go in sync with the country’s top leadership. The Shura Parishad has not given detailed information in this regard.

Significantly, under the leadership of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, new changes and reforms are being made in many areas of the country. He is getting the full support of his father Shah Salman for this.

The prince is attempting to redefine Saudi Arabia’s identity by replacing Islam with a national-cultural identity that is not entirely defined by religion.

What is the national anthem of Saudi?
The national anthem of Saudi Arabia is ‘An-Naseed Al-Watani As-Saudi’. It was acknowledged in 1984 with lyrics by Ibrahim al-Khafaji. Its original composer was Abdul Rahman al-Khatib, who composed it in 1947. Its instrumental version was later arranged by Seraj Omar.

In its lyrics, the desire for greatness for the country has been expressed, it has been said to hoist the flag. God (Allah) has been praised and long life has been sought from him for the king of Saudi Arabia.
