Moscow: Russia on Monday closed its airspace to more than two dozen European countries as well as Canada. The move comes after the European Union banned Russian airlines from entering their airspace. In fact, Western countries have planned to break the back of the Russian economy by imposing a variety of sanctions against Russia in response to the attack on Ukraine. In addition to these sanctions, the US and Germany announced that they would send Stinger missiles, among other military supplies.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian soldiers may have fewer weapons in their hands, but these soldiers, armed with determination, have, at least for the time being, caught up with Russian troops in the capital Kyiv and other major cities. Frustrated by tough resistance from Ukrainian troops and disastrous sanctions, Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered Russia’s nuclear forces to be on high alert. With this, the possibility of this war reaching a new height has become strong.

Millions of people fled their homes in Ukraine
The frightened people of Ukraine are looking for shelter in the basements and corridors. The exact number of dead is not known, but Ukraine’s president has said at least 16 children have been killed and 45 have been injured. Lakhs of people have left their homes or fled the country. Alexandra Mikhailova, a woman in Mariupol, said, “I pray that the negotiations go through successfully so that they reach an agreement and end the homicide.”

Belarus can send its army to help Russia
Meanwhile, a senior US intelligence official said that the neighboring country Belarus can send its army to help Russia by Monday. The concerned authorities have direct information in this matter. Meanwhile, Britain’s Defense Ministry said on Monday that Russian troops are 30 kilometers north of Kyiv, but Ukrainian soldiers have slowed their pace.
