London: After the explosion in the Nord Stream pipeline, there has been a panic in Europe and Britain due to the energy crisis. Along with the Norwegian Navy, now the UK Navy has also sent its most powerful frigate to protect the pipeline. According to the British newspaper ‘The Sun’, the British Ministry of Defense has sent its Royal Navy frigate HMS Somerset to protect the Nord Stream pipelines. Britain’s move comes after Defense Secretary Ben Wallace attended a crisis meeting of northern European countries on Monday to discuss security responses, including increasing maritime presence.

Crisis on 110 billion cubic meters of gas
The 800-mile Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines passing through the Baltic Sea supply 110 billion cubic meters of gas annually from Russia to Western Europe. Europe’s economy rests on the gas of this pipeline, which seems to be in trouble after the sanctions imposed on Russia. In the past, Russia had significantly reduced the supply of gas in Europe. Prices have risen by up to 12 percent after pipeline sabotage before the freezing cold in Europe.

Russia is being accused
Western countries are blaming Russia for the Nord Stream pipeline blasts. The Nord Stream pipeline, which is located at a depth of 260 to 360 feet in the sea, was damaged with the help of explosives. European countries including America allege that Russia has damaged these pipelines with the help of explosives. However, Russia is blaming America for this loss. According to Russia, Joe Biden had warned of ending the Nord Stream pipeline in the event of an attack on Ukraine.
