Washington: US regulators have released the first scientific review of the pharmaceutical company Pfizer on the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine and confirmed that the vaccine is effective. This approval will pave the way for the biggest vaccination campaign in the country. Scientists from the US regulator Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released this review on Tuesday. The agency’s independent advisors will meet on Thursday to discuss whether the vaccine can be recommended to start vaccinating millions of American citizens.
The FDA’s decision will come in the next few days and vaccination will probably begin. The UK on Tuesday began using the vaccines of Pfizer and its German subsidiary BioNotech. The FDA will also consider the Moderna company’s vaccine this month. A research journal on the medical field published a report on Tuesday stating that the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine has also been found to be effective in protecting against Covid-19 but Pfizer and Moderna K vaccine is not as effective.
Amid increasing cases of Covid-19 in the US, there have been encouraging news about the vaccine at a time when 2,85,000 people have died from the infection.
