London: After Britain’s late Queen Elizabeth II, some concerns also started rising about the coronation of King Charles III to the throne. The group of anti-monarchy protesters continues their efforts to disrupt the occasion. To deal with these people, at first, the police took a lot of strictness. But at the moment these people are protesting peacefully outside the British Parliament. The British police have come under fire from social activists and civil liberties groups for their harsh treatment.

According to a report in Al Jazeera, members of this group have publicly challenged the accession of King Charles III to the throne after the death of Queen Elizabeth II. A woman in Edinburgh was accused of disturbing the peace after carrying a poster with the words ‘imperialism, end the monarchy’. Whereas in London another woman was removed from the Parliament gate for waving ‘NotMyKing’.

In Oxford, a man named Simon Hill was handcuffed and thrown into a police van because he chanted ‘Who chose him?’ while referring to Charles being declared the new king, while a lawyer said on Monday He was questioned by the police outside Parliament about carrying a blank paper. On which he too had planned to write ‘Not My King’. However, now NotMyKing has become a trending hashtag on Twitter. The organization, which campaigns for the abolition of the monarchy, says that more demonstrations will be organized against the monarchy in the coming months.
