Moderna vaccine forms antibodies against the corona

Washington: Companies and institutes have made several claims of its efficacy regarding the vaccine being developed against the coronavirus that is causing havoc in the country and the world. Among them, one has the Coronavirus Vaccine. The company says that this vaccine is up to 94 percent effective against the coronavirus. At the same time, the company has made another claim. The company says that after the dose of Moderna’s vaccine, it produces powerful antibodies in the body for 3 months.

Researchers at the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which collaborated to develop this vaccine, claimed this by studying the immune system of 34 people involved in the first phase of clinical trials. It includes both the young and the elderly.

In research published in the New England Journal of Medicine, he stated that the antibodies that prevent the corona virus, the SARS-CoV-2 virus, from attacking human cells, decrease slightly over time. But in all these 34 people after immunization, these antibodies remained at the correct level for 3 months.

Moderna has claimed this corona vaccine with the name of MRNA-1273. This vaccine is given via two injections at an interval of 28 days. Although the number of antibodies may decrease with time, it is not necessarily a cause for concern for health. NIAID director Anthony Faukee and other experts said that there is a possibility that people’s immune systems will remember the coronavirus if they come back again, the body will make new antibodies for it again.

Moderna’s vaccine will be reviewed on December 17 by an advisory committee of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). After this it can be approved immediately for emergency use.
