Washington: US President Joe Biden on Thursday recalled the name of Indian-American lawyer Vijay Shanker for the position of ‘Associate Judge’ in the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Shankar was nominated for this top judicial post by former President Donald Trump on January 2, almost two months after losing the election.

The Biden administration has sent a notification withdrawing the Senate to the Senate, which has more than 30 names and most of those names have been associated with judicial appointments, announced last month by the previous Trump administration. Vijay Shankar is currently working in the Crime Cell in the Ministry of Justice in the post of Senior Case Advisor.
