Dubai: The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has appointed eminent Indian industrialist Yusuf Ali MA (Yusuf Ali) as vice-president in the government’s apex organization. This organization oversees all businesses in the UAE. He is the only Indian to be included in this 29-member board. Yusuf Ali, 65, is the chairman and managing director of the Abu Dhabi-based Lulu Group. Padma Shri winner Yusuf Ali hails from Nattika in the Thrissur district of Kerala. This company operates hypermarket and retail companies in many countries. Crown Prince Sheikh Muhammad issued a proposal to the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) to set up a new board of directors.

ADCCI President Abdullah Muhammad Al Mazrouei and Yusuf Ali have been appointed Vice Presidents. ADCCI is the apex organization of all businesses established in Abu Dhabi. It is the richest and most influential organization in the region. All the effective and big businesses here have to get a license from the ADCCI itself. Yusuf Ali is the only Indian on this board of Emirates and CEO. He has described his appointment as the proudest moment of his life. Also expressed deep gratitude to the Crown Prince.
