New Delhi: The final of the World Test Championship between India and Australia will be played at the Oval ground in England from June 7. Both the teams have reached England and have started preparations for this great match. But before this high-voltage match, Australia’s dashing batsman Steve Smith is getting scared. Smith said that the conditions for batting at the Oval will be better and as the match progresses, they will face conditions similar to those seen during the Border Gavaskar Trophy in India. Smith’s gesture is towards spin bowlers getting help from the wicket at the Oval.

Steve Smith believes that the Oval ground in England is most suitable for batting. In a conversation with Cricket Australia, he said, “Bounce and pace are good in terms of batting in the Oval. The outfield here is as fast as lightning. Once your eyes are fixed, then it becomes easy to bat and score runs.

Along with this, Smith further said that as the Test match progresses, spin bowlers can get help from the pitch at the Oval. That’s why I think Australia will have to face the same situation at the Oval as they had to do in the last Border Gavaskar Trophy played in India.

Smith made Australia’s comeback in BGT
Let us tell you that Australia toured India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy of 4 Tests in February-March this year. India won that series 2-1. India won the first two Tests of the series. After this Pat Cummins returned to Australia to take care of his ailing mother. In his absence, Steve Smith captained Australia in the third Test in Indore and Australia returned to the series by winning this Test.

WTC is a big initiative: Smith
This Australian batsman said about WTC, “This is a big initiative. Every Test has its own importance in the WTC and it is incredibly exciting for us to qualify on top and face India in the final. I hope that many fans will reach the Oval for this match. The number of Indian fans will definitely be more than Australians. So the contest is expected to be interesting.”

Smith is playing county cricket before the WTC final. He played many matches for Sussex under the captaincy of Cheteshwar Pujara.
