KUALA LUMPUR: India’s star shuttler HS Prannoy defeated China’s Weng Hongyang in the final of the Malaysia Masters badminton on Sunday to clinch the title. In the first set, HS Prannoy started brilliantly and defeated China’s Wang Hongyang 21-19. After this, Wang Hongyang made a good comeback and won the second set 21-13. In the third set, there was a close fight between both players. But, eventually, Prannoy won the third set 21-18 to win the title of Malaysia Masters 2023. With this, HS Prannoy has created history in Malaysia Masters. He has become the first Indian to win gold in the men’s category of this tournament.

Star Indian shuttler HS Prannoy created history by winning the gold medal at the Malaysia Masters in Kuala Lumpur. HS Prannoy is the third Indian after Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu to win this title.
