Washington: Former US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton participated in the India Economic Conclave 2022. He openly expressed his views on Russia’s attack on Ukraine. Hillary slammed China for indirectly supporting Russia in the Ukraine war, while advising India to clear its stand. He said the invasion of Ukraine has been an eye-opener.

Hillary Clinton at the Times Network India Economic Conclave said, “India’s energy imports from Russia are very low. It will be important to underline that as a sovereign nation, India has to take decisions according to its interests.

Terming India’s standoff on the border with China as “very troublesome”, he said that more attention will have to be given to the subject. Whatever India does to protect itself, America supports it. Hillary said this while addressing the India Economic Conclave.

The US has earlier also pushed India to strongly express its reaction to Russia’s attacks on Ukraine. Many times there was an attempt to put pressure on it indirectly, but India has so far remained firm on its stand.

America has not suffered so much in 20 years
On Russia’s attack on Ukraine, former US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said, ‘The attack on Ukraine has been eye-opening and in many ways awe-inspiring. This attack seems unreasonable, unnecessary, and unwarranted. I believe what Putin was trying to do was to annex Ukraine and claim it as part of Russia. But it has made a big difference to them. Russia’s army has suffered more damage in one month than America has done in 20 years.

Biden and his team unify the NATO alliance
Former US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Biden and his team have really integrated Europe, the NATO alliance and others. Believe that this threat (Russian aggression) is first a threat to Ukraine, but it is also a threat to the global order, to the rule of law. The excitement did not come from the West, not from Ukraine. It was because Vladimir Putin could not allow Ukraine to become an independent sovereign nation.

During the 1990s Russia was invited to be part of NATO training exercises to demonstrate that we have no aggressive attitude towards the country and want to build a good relationship.
