Philadelphia: US lawmaker Mary Gay Scanlon was gunned down by two men, took her car keys from her in a South Philadelphia park, and then fled with her vehicle. The MP was not injured in the incident.

Police and Scanlon’s office gave this information. Police said Scanlon was on her way to her car after a meeting at FDR Park, shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday, when two armed men asked her for her car keys.

Scanlon gave him the keys and one of them took him driving his blue Acura MDX and the other followed him in another vehicle. Scanlon’s director of communications, Lauren Cox, said the MP had no injuries.

Police said that the vehicle contained the personal and work-related belongings of the MP. According to the news of ‘WPVI-TV’, the personal and official phone of the MP, purse, and some documents were in the car. Police said they are investigating the case in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
