Dakar: The North African branch of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda has said that it has chosen its new ringleader. Earlier, he had confirmed the death of his former gangster. He was killed by French forces in June. This information has been given by SITE intelligence group. This group of Americans keeps an eye on the sites of jihadists. He said in a video on Saturday that Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) had shown the body of its ringleader Abdelmalik Drukdel for the first time.

AQIM also said that Yazid Mubarak, also known as Abu Ubaida Yusuf al-Annabi, is now the new kingpin. Al Qaeda’s North African branch has also confirmed the death of Swiss missionary Beatrice Stockley. He was abducted in January 2016 in the town of Timbuktu in Mali.

The SITE said the organization blamed “French warriors” for his death who tried unsuccessfully to free him. Rita Katz, director of the SITE Intelligence Group, tweeted that the appointment of Yusuf al-Annabi as the new leader was not surprising as the organization had been referring to him in its publicity for many years and had been involved in many important campaigns.
