A European media group shared a video of the incident on Twitter, in which hundreds of people can be seen holding the Ukrainian flag and protesting against the Russian army.
In Kherson, people went out to protest the Russian occupation. The news agency wrote in a tweet on Saturday afternoon that Russian soldiers fired in the air to repel these protesters and disperse the crowd.
On March 3, Ukrainian officials confirmed that the city of Kherson is now under Russian control. Kherson is a strategically important city of Ukraine, where ships are manufactured.
The estimated population of this city situated on the banks of the Dnieper River is about 3 lakhs. Russia’s control of the city could be a major blow to Ukraine as it would cut the country off any possible maritime aid from other countries.
