Washington: Facebook announced that it plans to resume political and social issue advertisements on its platform beginning March 4.
“Unlike other platforms, we require authorization and transparency not just for political and electoral ads, but also for social issue ads, and our systems do not distinguish between these categories,” Facebook said in a release.

Facebook explained in the release it will continue to monitor the situation with respect to advertisements in the coming months and noted that it does not exclude introducing additional changes in its service.

The company introduced a temporary ban on political, social issues and election-related advertisements after the 2020 US presidential election on November 5, saying it seeks to “avoid confusion or abuse following Election Day.”
