Rome: In Italy, the severe lockdown has been imposed in half of the country when Corona Virus infection cases again increase significantly and hospitals go out of control. Schools, university-level hostels, and retail shops in nine areas have been closed on Monday. In the autonomous Trento province, only food is allowed to be packed and transported from the restaurant. The Lazia zone from Lambardi in the north to Puglia in the south, as well as the capital around Rome between them, has been declared a ‘Red Zone’. The rest of the country is kept in a mild Orange level lockdown.

The Ministry of Health assesses each week on the basis of infection rate, hospital capacity and other parameters and puts individual areas in different level restrictions.
