Washington/Beijing: China is rapidly increasing its stock of nuclear weapons and by the year 2030, the number of nuclear weapons it has can reach at least 1000. This has been said in a report of the Pentagon. It said that China is increasing the number of its land, sea, and air-based nuclear capability systems and building the necessary infrastructure to expand its nuclear power.

This report has come at a time when there is tension in relations between America and China over many issues including Taiwan. The Pentagon’s new estimate is much higher than last year’s report, as it said Beijing’s nuclear warheads could be around 400 within a decade. He said that China is increasing its capacity to manufacture and separate plutonium by building state-of-the-art reactors and reprocessing facilities and through this is taking cooperation in the expansion of its nuclear power.

In this report, concerns have been expressed about China’s aggressive stance against Taiwan, India, and Beijing’s tough stance against Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The Pentagon says that by 2027, China may have up to 700 nuclear weapons and Beijing intends to have 1000 nuclear weapons by 2030.

The report said that China is moving aggressively to become a master of cutting-edge technology and a global superpower in innovation.
