Washington: After the release of the video of the brutal beating and subsequent death of a black man by the American police, a round of demonstrations started in Times Square. According to a report by the news agency Reuters, in this video released by the police, 29-year-old black man Tyr Nichols can be heard shouting his mother’s name while being beaten by the officers. Later, the young man died during treatment in the hospital.
According to reports, hundreds of protesters took to the streets late Friday night demanding justice for Nichols in New York and stopping police brutality. Charges have been framed against five police personnel for the murder of the youth. Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy said that although the officers played different roles in the killing, they were all responsible. Let us tell you that during a traffic stop, the officers had a clash with Nichols.

All officers are black
All five accused involved in the murder of the youth are black, and have been accused of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, official misconduct, and official harassment. Mulroy said the video of the January 7 traffic stop was released to the public on Friday evening. Nichols’ family and his lawyers say the footage shows officers brutally beating the 29-year-old deceased for three minutes, which the legal team compared to the infamous police beating of Los Angeles motorist Rodney King in 1991 Key’s.
