Berlin: Austria said on Monday that it was expelling a Russian diplomat. Russia called the decision “baseless” and said it would react to Moscow. The Austrian Foreign Ministry confirmed that a diplomat from the Russian embassy was being ordered to leave the country and said that his behavior was not in line with the treaty in Vienna regarding diplomatic relations.
The Austrian press agency gave this information in its news. However, the ministry declined to share any further details. An Austrian daily newspaper accused the diplomat in his news that he had been engaged in economic espionage of a technology firm for years, allegedly with the help of an Austrian citizen.
At the same time, in a statement released on its website, the Russian embassy said that it was hurt by the unfounded decision of the Austrian authorities, which is hurting the constructive relations between Russia and Austria.
