Another Indian student shot in Kyiv

Kyiv: Ukraine is burning in the fire of war. So far more than 10 of its cities have been ruined by Russia’s attack. Meanwhile, the Government of India is running Operation Ganga to bring back Indians from different cities of Ukraine. According to the information received, another Indian student was shot in Kyiv on Friday morning. The bullet fired when the student was on his way to return to India. In such a situation, the student had to return to Kyiv for treatment. Let us tell you that so far 1500 Ukrainians have been injured in this war.

VK Singh, the Union Minister of State present in Poland, said that we are trying to get more and more Indian students back home. The identity of the injured student is being ascertained. We are keeping an eye on this.

Earlier on Wednesday, an Indian student died in Ukraine, he was a resident of Punjab. On the previous day i.e. on Tuesday, an airstrike killed an Indian student in Kharkiv, who was a resident of Karnataka.

On Thursday, 3726 people were brought home from neighboring countries of Ukraine through 19 flights, including the Air Force, as part of Operation Ganga, run to bring back Indian students and civilians stranded in war-torn Ukraine. Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia tweeted that under Operation Ganga, Indians were brought in 8 flights from Bucharest, 5 from Budapest, 2 from Suceava, 1 from Kosace, and 3 from Rejejo on Thursday. These flights landed at airports like Delhi, Mumbai, Hindon, etc. Since the issue of the advisory, 17,000 Indians have been evacuated from Ukraine under Operation Ganga.

In the midst of the war, the UN has estimated that one million Ukrainians have had to leave their homeland and take refuge in other countries because of the Russian attack. A UN spokesman said 209 civilians were killed in the attack in Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in relation to the evacuation of Indian students trapped in Ukraine that more than 3000 Indian students were trapped in Kharkiv. They were told a way out by Poland by crossing the whole country, but our army gave them a safe way.
