Aircraft missing in Indonesia with 62 passengers

Jakarta: On Saturday, the Jet Passenger Plane lost contact with the Air Traffic Control after flying from Indonesia’s capital Jakarta (Jakarta). There were 62 people on board this domestic flight. Officials gave this information.

Aditya Irawati, the spokesperson for Indonesia’s Ministry of Transport, said that the Boeing 737-500 aircraft took off from Jakarta at around 1:56 pm and its contact broke from the control tower at around 2:40 pm. According to the statement issued by the airline, the aircraft had flown from Jakarta to Pontianak, the capital of West Kalimantan province off the island of Borneo, Indonesia. The duration of the flight was about 90 minutes. In addition to 56 passengers on this aircraft, six crew members were on board.

“The missing aircraft is being searched by coordinating with the National Search and Rescue Agency and the National Transport Safety Committee,” Irawati said in a statement. Most of the voyage from Jakarta to Pontianak passes over the Java sea. So far no clue has been found about the missing aircraft.
