Kabul: Afghanistan’s Vice President Amrullah Saleh has declared himself the Patron President. Saleh has tweeted that he is gathering support for himself. Saleh tweeted and wrote- “Clarification: According to the Constitution of Afghanistan, the Vice President becomes Acting President in the absence of the President, fleeing the country, resignation or death. I am currently in my country and I am legally the Caretaker President. I am approaching all the leaders for their support and consensus.” Let us tell you that after the Taliban occupation in Afghanistan, President Ashraf Ghani left the country on Sunday. It was being told that Ghani had taken refuge in Tajikistan, although later there were reports of him taking refuge in Oman.

Crisis-hit Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani said he left Kabul to avoid bloodshed and a “great human tragedy”. He asked the Taliban to state their intentions and to reassure people who were uncertain about their future after its occupation of the country. Taliban fighters captured Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, on Sunday. The government knelt down and President Ghani left the country with domestic and foreign nationals.

Ghani made the remarks for the first time since leaving Afghanistan on Sunday. In this, he said, “I had two ways, first to face the ‘armed Taliban’ trying to enter Rashtrapati Bhavan or to leave my beloved country, to protect which I have dedicated 20 years of my life. .”

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Ghani wrote, “If innumerable countrymen were martyred, if they had seen the scene of devastation and the destruction of Kabul, then this city of six million people could have a great human tragedy. The Taliban have done all this to remove me and they have come to attack the whole of Kabul and the people of Kabul. To stop the bloodshed, I felt okay to go out.”
