Waverly(US): At least eight people died and many went missing after flooding in central Tennessee. Officials said that in the heavy rain on Saturday, many houses and roads in rural areas were washed away. Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis told WSMV-TV that more than 30 people were missing. Two children were washed away in the flood. Their bodies have been found.

It has rained more than 15 inches, due to which roads have been blocked and the communication system has come to a standstill. Meteorologist Chrissy Hurley said that 20-25 percent of the total rainfall in the region throughout the year has already happened here. He said cities like Waverly and McEwen in Humphreys Count are in dire and disastrous conditions. People are imprisoned in their homes and there is no way out.”
