Mamuju: At least 34 people were killed and more than 600 injured due to the Earthquake after midnight in Sulawesi Island, Indonesia. Landslides also occurred in some places after the earthquake. Officials gave this information.

Officials in Indonesia said the quake’s intensity measured 6.2 on the Rector Scale. Further information is being collected about the casualties and earthquake damage in the affected areas. In a video released by the National Disaster Mitigation Agency, a girl was caught in the rubble of the house and was pleading for help. The child was also saying that her mother was alive but could not get out.

The rescuers told him that he was trying his best to help her. The earthquake collapsed part of a hospital and patients were shifted to temporary tents outside, TV channels reported. The American Geological Survey reported that about two thousand people have been placed in many temporary shelter sites.

The epicenter of the quake was at a depth of 18 km in Mamuzu district of West Sulawesi province. An earthquake of 5.9 magnitude occurred inside the sea on Thursday in the same region. President Joko Widodo, while addressing the country via television, said that he has asked the Social Minister, army, police and the heads of the disaster agency to take quick relief measures and carry out rescue operations.
