14 Iraqi detained in Turkey on charges of connection to ISIS

Istanbul: The Anti-Terrorism Team of Turkey has recently stepped up its operations against IS members in the country. Turkish police have detained at least 14 Iraqi civilians on Monday. According to Turkish media, the detained people have been detained on the basis of suspicion of belonging to the terrorist organization ISIS and they are currently being questioned by the police. Last week also, the Turkish police arrested a suspect who is being accused of working for the IS media operation.

According to media reports, on Monday, Turkish police raided several places in Samsoon province, in which several electronic gadgets have been confiscated. It is reported that in Turkey, IS was preparing for attacks, after which 14 people have been detained after raiding. Earlier in August also, Turkish police detained 6 people from the monsoon province.

Last week, on 16 September, Turkish police also raided the northern province of Bursa, in which a suspect of the IS terrorist group was arrested. The suspect is accused of working for an IS media operation. Also, eight people were arrested from the southern province of Mersin who were suspected to be associated with the terrorist group. IS has been accused of carrying out terrorist attacks on Turkey in the last few years in which more than 300 people have been killed so far.
