India will have world’s first DNA vaccine Zykov-D, third phase trial continues

New Delhi: India is soon going to get a vaccine as a weapon in the war against the coronavirus. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya told in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday that the Phase III trial of Zydus Cadila Company’s Covid-19 vaccine Zycov-D is going on. It is a plasmid DNA vaccine against coronavirus.

Mandaviya told the House that if the vaccine passes all tests and is approved for use in the country, India will become the first country in the world to use a DNA-based vaccine to protect against COVID-19.
