London: The UK and Indian government have invited applications from innovative Indian medical technology startup companies on Monday for assistance under a joint manufacturing support program. The program is part of the new bilateral medical technology agreement of the two governments to deal with Covid-19. Under this program, the Andhra Pradesh Medical Technology Sector (AMTZ) will work with the UK government to bridge the gap between demand and supply of ventilators and compulsory medical equipment.
These devices have an important role in the fight against the corona virus. Startups have time to apply under this program by the end of August. Selected startup companies will be provided with the necessary finance, technology and infrastructure to market their products on behalf of AMTZ’s MedWally Incubation Center. In this regard, the British High Commissioner to India, Sir Philip Barton said that he is happy with this new medical technology program that it will take the partnership of the two countries further.
