India to get new army chief, Lt Gen Manoj Pandey will take the charge

New Delhi: The new chief of the Indian Army has been announced. Lt Gen Manoj Pandey has been made the new Army Chief. He will replace Major Manoj Naravane. With this, he is the first engineer who will become the army chief. It is to be known that the present Army Chief Naravane is retiring in April 2022.

Will Naravane be the next CDS?
The current army chief Naravane can be made CDS after retirement. Presently he is the senior-most for the position. The then CDS General Bipin Rawat was killed in a helicopter crash on 8 December 2021. Rawat’s wife and 12 others were also in the accident, in which all of them died.
