Sidhi: The siren will ring as soon as the herd of elephants enter the Podi range of the Sanjay Tiger Reserve area. This will let the villagers know that elephant herds have come to their area and they will become alert. This state’s first quick information system is being installed in Sanjay Tiger Reserve to monitor elephants. After this it will be planted in other parks of the state. Currently four sensors are being installed.

Why needed
Herds of elephants have been coming for many years by crossing the Chhattisgarh border in Podi range of Sanjay Tiger Reserve area. They ruin crops. Two people were also crushed by a herd of elephants. This is how the device will work

Four locations of the Podi range will be identified from where elephant herds continue to move. It will have sensor in a special type of device, which will have a capacity of 100 meters in the beginning. After this its range will be extended to an area of ​​two and a half hundred meters. As soon as the herd of elephants pass through this area, the sound of sirens will be emitted from the instrument installed. The siren will ring the beat office, the marked location in the village and the phone on the officer’s mobile. Explain that the device will be installed at 8 feet height so that it can cover the height of elephant.

State experiment
Sage Foundation director Sagnik Sen Gupta says that this is the first rapid information system in the state to monitor elephants. Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Chhattisgarh have installed such devices in the country. The SEZ Foundation will train around 7 people on the elephant drive team. The Sanjay Tiger Reserve has four divisional elephants.

Rapid information device is being installed for movement of elephants in the entire range of Sanjay Tiger Reserve. By which elephants can be saved from the damage done to the villagers. Initially four instruments will be installed. If successful, it can be extended according to need.
