New Delhi: There has been a significant decline in Covid-19 cases. India has vaccinated more than one crore citizens till 22 October. All economic activities are getting back on track. The culture of work from home is also gradually decreasing now. After more than a year of work from home practice, top IT companies like TCS, Infosys, HCL Technologies have revealed plans to call their employees.

The country’s largest IT firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has said that it will call its employees back to their office desks as nearly 70 percent of them have been fully vaccinated and around 95 percent have received a single vaccine. The dose has been taken. The company’s Chief HR Officer Milind Lakkar told that the company is considering calling employees to the office by the end of the year.

Earlier, TCS had told that by the end of the year or the beginning of next year, it will call 90 percent of the employees to the office. The IT firm has assured to ensure the safety of the employees.

Infosys to use a hybrid model
Infosys, the country’s second-largest IT company, has said that it will now resort to a hybrid model to work. In the hybrid model, which became popular during the time of the Corona epidemic, employees are allowed to work from their place of choice. The company’s Chief Operating Officer Praveen Rao said that 86 percent of their employees have had at least one dose and now the company will go ahead with the hybrid model.

Like Infosys, companies like Marico and Wipro are also adopting the hybrid model, which is helping companies cut down on rental and power costs, apart from saving employee commuting time.

Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji had tweeted on September 12 and said, “Our company employees will come to the office twice a week from tomorrow i.e. 13th September. All are fully vaccinated. Will follow social distancing and safety rules. We will also keep a watch on this.”

HCL Technologies is calling the office twice a week
IT giant HCL Technologies is similarly calling its senior executives to the office twice a week, while the rest of the employees have to come on one day. The company hopes that by the end of this year, this plan will gain momentum.
