On August 15, the Prime Minister had announced
The PM Gati Shakti Master Plan was first discussed on August 15 last year. It was mentioned during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort. After this, on October 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this scheme. This scheme is also related to the development of infrastructure in the country.

Rs 100 lakh crore scheme
PM Gati Shakti Mission is a plan of Rs 100 lakh crore. Its purpose is to do reforms in the field of infrastructure. Its purpose is to coordinate the ongoing infrastructure projects under different ministries and provide them the right direction. Under this mission, the government has brought 16 ministries on one platform. These include important ministries like Railways, Roads and Highways, Petroleum and Gas, Telecom, Power, Shipping and Aviation.

Focus on multi-modal connectivity
Under the PM Gati Shakti Mission, coordination between important projects like railways, roads will help in strengthening the infrastructure. With this connectivity can be increased across the country. This will benefit the industry, trade as well as the common man. Logistic cost i.e. the cost of transportation of goods will come down. It will be possible to transport the goods from one place to another in less time.

2 lakh km of national highway will be expanded
The central government has also made a plan to build 11 industrial corridors and 2 defense corridors under Gati Shakti Mission. Under this, the target is to bring every village under 4G network coverage, expand the National Highway network to 2 lakh km, 220 new airports, helicopters, and water aerodrome.

Focus on multimodal connectivity
Special emphasis is being given on multi-modal connectivity in the PM Gati Shakti Mission. With this, people will get the option of different types of transport to go and come from one place to another. Road projects are being focused on the areas where road connectivity needs to be upgraded.
