Washington. America’s first Hindu MP, Tulsi Gabbard, said that in this turbulent period one can find certainty, strength and peace in the Bhagavad Gita. In his online address, the 39-year-old Congress member from Hawaii said that this is a period of chaos and no one can say with certainty what tomorrow will be like. Gabbard said in the ‘Class of 2020 for Hindu students, “but we can find certainty, strength and peace in the Bhagavad Gita through devotional yoga and karma yoga taught by Krishna.”

His address comes amid protests against the killing of African-American George Floyd at the hands of a white police officer in Minneapolis, USA. The Hindu Students Council organized the first online Hindu address on June 7, attracting thousands of viewers on Facebook and YouTube to express solidarity during the Kovid-19 crisis. According to Johns Hopkins University, more than 76,00,000 people have been infected worldwide by the epidemic and more than 4,25,000 have lost their lives. America is the country most affected by this disease.
