The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that this new variant has shown signs of dodging the vaccine.

The scientific name of the MU variant is B.1.621. This variant was added to the World Health Organization’s watchlist on August 30. However, WHO has also said that more research is still needed regarding this variant. Preliminary studies have shown that MU behaves similarly to the beta variant found in South Africa.
