New Delhi: The country’s leading automaker TVS Motor plans to launch a full range of electric two and three-wheelers in the next two years. The company has constituted a team of 500 engineers for this. The power generation of the company’s electric vehicles will be in the range of five to twenty-five kilowatts as it aims to play a major role in the growing electric vehicle sector of the country. Budget of so many thousand crores for the development of EV – TVS has earmarked an investment of Rs 1,000 crore on its EV (Enterprise Value) business. But at the same time, the company will continue to invest in two-wheelers vehicles which will also have flagship and conventional engines as the company sees more growth opportunities here. The company’s Joint Managing Director Sudarshan Venu said, β€œThe company is excited about the EV. We believe this will grow rapidly so we are investing in manufacturing products and capacity to play a key role in the EV space.” TVS has engaged a team of over 500 engineers in the development of new electric vehicles. The range of EVs that will be launched in the next two years will include two-wheelers and three-wheelers in both passenger and cargo vehicles.

TVS will also look at exports of its EVs, the company is optimistic about EVs and believes that the pace of adoption of EVs will depend on various factors such as technology and technology improvements, subsidies, and customer acceptance and charging. Infrastructure construction etc.

Upgrade and Expansion of TVS iQube – According to sources, the company will also announce the upgrade of the TVS iQube electric scooter in the next few months. The e-scooter has a maximum power of 4.4 KW and a range of 75 km on a single charge and is currently sold in four cities. Sudarshan Venu said that the company plans to expand the e-scooter across the country before the end of this financial year and expand the availability of iQube to another 20 cities by the end of September.
