New Delhi: After instant messaging app WhatsApp (Telegram), now Telegram has also introduced the auto-delete message for its users after the scheduled time. Telegram said that now users on its platform will be able to auto-delete the messages on chat, groups and channels. This feature was previously only for secret chats. With this, Telegram Broadcast Group is bringing features like expiring invoice link, invoking QR code. This will give a tough competition to WhatsApp.

Messages sent to all people will be completely deleted
Telegram said that users will be able to completely delete the message sent to all the people associated with a conversation at any time with the auto-delete feature. Before sending the message on the platform, users will also be able to put a timer of 24 hours or 7 days (Timer). This will automatically delete messages on individual chats, groups, and channels once the limit is met. Only admins (Admin) in groups and channels will be able to enable this feature.

How to activate Telegram’s auto delete feature

  • On the top of the chat on Android, select the Clear History option on the right and then select the time.
  • Tap and hold the message on iOS. Then tap on Select. After this, tap on the clear chat in the top left of the chat. Enable auto delete and select duration.

Telegram is also launching a new type of group Broadcast Group
Telegram is also launching a new way group, where only admin can send messages. All members can join live voice chat through audio for discussion. This new type of group will be called Broadcast Group. The general telegram group has a limit of two lakh members. Telegram is also upgrading the security level on its platform with new features. The platform is improving its reporting system. Users can now select messages and comment by informing them about spam content, fake accounts, violence. Telegram has said that this will help the platform to better understand the concerns of users.
