Mumbai: The teaser of Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra and singer Diljit Dosanjh’s starrer upcoming biopic ‘Chamkila’ has been released today. Parineeti Chopra has shared the teaser of the film on her Instagram account. Diljit Dosanjh is seen for the first time without a turban in the character of Punjab’s famous late musician Amar Singh Chamkila.
Sharing the teaser of the film, Parineeti Chopra wrote in the caption, “You have heard her voice, now listen to her story! Amar Singh ‘Chamkila’, coming soon on Netflix.” The film’s story is based on Amar Singh Chamkila, the rockstar of Punjab. Who was brutally shot dead in 1988 at the age of 27?
The assailants opened fire on Amar Singh Chamkila when he was on his way to a stage show in village Mehsampur, Jalandhar, Punjab. During that time he was accompanied by his wife Amarjot and children. Today Amar Singh Chamkila may not be among the people, but even today he is remembered by the people. AR Rahman has given music to the film ‘Chamkila’ directed by Imtiaz Ali. The film will release in 2024 on the OTT platform Netflix. However, the release date of the film has not been announced yet.
