Swami Agnivesh died at age 80, suffering from liver cirrhosis

New Delhi: Swami Agnivesh, a social worker and well-known leader of Arya Samaj passed away at the age of 80 (Swami Agnivesh Passes Away). Just a few days ago, Swami Agnivesh’s health suddenly deteriorated. After which he was admitted to the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences / ILBS (ILBS) in New Delhi. He was being treated under the supervision of senior doctors. He was placed on a ventilator due to liver cirrhosis and multi-organ failure. A spokesman for the hospital said, “He was suffering from liver cirrhosis and today his condition worsened. Many of his organs stopped working and he died after a heart attack at six in the evening. He said that an attempt was made to bring Swami Agnivesh back to his senses but he died at half-past six in the evening.

Swami Agnivesh, who is often in discussion and openly expressing his views on social issues, formed a politics party called Arya Sabha in 1970. In 1977, he was elected MLA in Haryana Vidhansabha and also served as Minister of Education in Haryana Government. In 1981, Swami Agnivesh founded an organization called Bandhu Mukti Morcha. In 2011, Swami Agnivesh also took part in the anti-corruption movement led by Anna Hazare. He also took part in the reality show Bigg Boss. He also stayed in Bigg Boss house for three days from 8 to 11 November. Swami Agnivesh was also an MLA and a minister.

Born on 21 September 1939, Swami Agnivesh was known for his outspoken comments on social issues. In 2011, he participated in the anti-corruption movement led by Anna Hazare. However, there were some differences later and he was overcome by Anna’s movement. He also participated in the reality show Bigg Boss. He was in Big Boss’s house for three days.
