New Delhi: SpiceJet has stopped 10 to 50 per cent of the salary of the pilot and cabin crew in April and asked to give it later. This has been done because of the second wave of Corona virus and the company has said that it will give this part later.

The aviation sector, forced to take steps
The havoc of Corona is now visible on the jobs of the corporate sector. SpiceJet, the country’s leading airline, has withheld 10 to 50 per cent salary of its employees in the month of April.

News agency PTI quoted sources as saying that this has been done due to the second wave of corona virus and the company has said that it will give this part later. SpiceJet has withheld 10 to 50 per cent of the April salary of the pilot and cabin crew and asked to give it later.

CMD did not take any salary
The airline said that Ajay Singh, chairman and managing director (CMD) of SpiceJet himself, did not take any salary in April. Significantly, the aviation sector is one of the sectors most affected by Corona. The aviation sector suffered heavy losses in the first round of Corona itself. Now the second wave of Corona has broken the back of this sector. Due to Corona, international flights are banned, domestic flights have also become very limited.

What did the company say?
A company spokesperson said, “The salaries of the employees are not being cut.” Due to adverse conditions, we are being forced to postpone the salaries of some employees.

The airline says that most of its employees, including the lower class employees, are not affected and they will get full salary. The spokesperson said, ‘CMD has decided to give up his entire salary. This is a temporary step and after the situation improves, the outstanding salary of the employees in the month of April will be fully paid.
