Shopping for millions of rupees done from fake credit cards of many celebrities like Dhoni, Abhishek Bachchan, Shilpa Shetty

New Delhi: In a bizarre case of cyber fraud, a group of fraudsters allegedly received their PAN details from the GST Identity Number of many Bollywood actors and cricketers i.e. GSTIN (which are available online) and from the Pune -based Finntech Startup ‘One Card’ One Card Get credit cards in his name.

Shahdara Deputy Commissioner (DCP) Rohit Meena said that the fraudsters used the names and details of Abhishek Bachchan, Shilpa Shetty, Madhuri Dixit, Emraan Hashmi, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Meena said, “The investigation of the case is going on, so we cannot comment more on this. ” The company later found out about fraud, but before that, the fraudsters had purchased products worth Rs 21.32 lakh using some of these cards. Subsequently, the company immediately informed the Delhi Police, who took action and arrested five people in the case.

Sources in Delhi Police said that the five accused have been identified as Puneet, Mohammad Asif, Sunil Kumar, Pankaj Mishra, and Vishwa Bhaskar Sharma. They worked together to cheat the company in a very unusual way. A source said, “When the accused were questioned after the arrest, they told how this fraud was carried out. The accused used GST details of celebrities present on Google. He knew that GSTIN’s first two digits are the state code and the subsequent 10 digits are the PAN number.

The source said, “The date of birth of these celebrities was also present on Google, the PAN number and the date of birth, they got the necessary details related to PAN. He fraudulently made the PAN card again and put his picture on it, so that during video verification, his face would match the photo available on the PAN/Aadhaar card.

The source said that for example, Abhishek Bachchan’s PAN card had his PAN number and date of birth, but a picture of one of the accused was found. He said that the investigation of the case is going on and it is suspected that the accused may have adopted the same method to get credit cards from other banks and financial institutions.

The Pune -based company said in a police complaint lodged with the police, “FPL Technologies Private Limited” issues one card, which is a contact-free credit card. Also, online services are provided through forest card and one score app, so that customers can use it for online transactions or shopping on a website or app. The company alleged that these fraudsters had approached the company through the app by uploading details like PAN and Aadhaar numbers to get credit cards issued in their name.
