Washington: Indian-Americans in the US celebrated the foundation of the historic Ram temple in Ayodhya by lighting a lamp. A tableau of pictures of the Ram temple at Capitol Hill was also taken out. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday worshiped the land for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and laid the foundation stone of the temple. The Supreme Court of India last year paved the way for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya while resolving the decades-old issue.

Various groups of Hindu communities in the US have organized several online events indicating the importance of the ceremony. In Washington, members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, US, on Tuesday took out a tableau on a truck, which contained a digital photograph of the Ram temple. The truck circled the city in Capitol Hill amid slogans of “Jai Shri Ram”. In the rest of America, Hindu community people lit lamps in homes. “Congratulations to all Indians, especially Hindus, Jains and all those who worship Lord Rama on the historic day of laying the foundation of the Ram temple in Ayodhya,” said Ajay Jain Bhutoria, a community leader living in California. The corona virus was less celebrated publicly because of it.

But during this time many online celebrations were organized in different parts of the country. The community said in a press release, “People are celebrating by worshiping in their homes, lighting lamps. For many people it will be like Diwali. There is great enthusiasm among Indians. ” Meanwhile, Mayor of Brampton in Canada, Patric Brown, congratulated the Hindu community on the occasion. He said that congratulations for the construction of the temple at the holy site. Congratulations to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for the efforts made to make this possible.
