New Delhi: Honda has unveiled its new electric SUV Prologue, which is set to hit the international market in early 2024. The Prologue is Honda’s first electric vehicle based on the General Motors Ultium platform, which also powers the GMC Hummer EV and the Chevrolet Silverado EV. The Prologue is a spacious and stylish SUV that offers a range of 450 kilometers on a single charge and comes with many advanced features. The company has started accepting pre-orders for the Prologue in the American market, where it will compete with other electric SUVs like the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and the Tesla Model Y.

The Prologue has a sleek and minimalist design language that gives it a premium look. The SUV has a length of 4,877 mm and a wheelbase of 3,094 mm, which provide ample space for passengers and cargo. The boot space is 714 liters, which can be expanded to 1,634 liters by folding the rear seats. The SUV has LED headlights with DRLs, LED projector fog lamps, LED taillights, and 21-inch aero alloy wheels that enhance its aerodynamics and stability.
The interior of the Prologue is equally impressive, with a large 11.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The infotainment system also has a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system that delivers high-quality audio. The SUV also has an 11-inch digital instrument cluster that displays various information such as speed, battery level, range, navigation, etc. The SUV also features a heads-up display that projects important information on the windshield, such as speed limit, lane assist, traffic sign recognition, etc.
The Prologue is equipped with many comfort and convenience features, such as ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, electric seat adjustment, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging pad, ambient lighting, etc. The SUV also has many safety features, such as the Honda Sensing ADAS suite, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, collision mitigation braking system, etc.
The Prologue is Honda’s attempt to enter the growing market of electric vehicles and to achieve its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. The Prologue is expected to be followed by another electric SUV from Honda’s luxury brand Acura in 2024. The Prologue is expected to be priced between $40,000 to $50,000 in the US market.
