Priyanka and Nick Jonas come forward to help Bihar, Assam flood victims

Mumbai: Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her husband popstar Nick Jonas announced on Tuesday that they have donated funds for flood relief in Bihar and Assam and also urged fans to help them in these disaster-hit states. According to an official report on Monday, 22.34 lakh people have been affected by floods in 22 districts of Assam.

The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said that 103 people died in flood-related incidents, while 26 people were killed in landslides. Priyanka, who served as the brand ambassador of Assam from 2016 to 2019, said that the state has been ‘devastated’ by the floods. Priyanka said in a statement, “Nick and I have donated. We help the organizations working there so that they can help the needy people. ”

The 38-year-old actress said that both have also helped in relief work in Bihar, where a total of 24.42 lakh people have been flooded in 11 districts. More than 6,800 people have so far been evacuated from the flood affected areas of Bihar by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
