New Delhi: Former President Pranab Mukherjee underwent brain surgery at the Army’s Research and Referral (R&R) Hospital. This surgery was done to remove the blood clots formed in the brain. Sources have given information about this.

Mukherjee, who is unwell, was admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors and was found to be infected with the corona virus before surgery.

Sources told the agency, “Former President Pranab Mukherjee’s brain surgery to remove the clot in the Army’s R&R Hospital was successful.”

Sources also said, “His condition is critical and he is on ventilator.”

Mukherjee (84) said in a tweet in the morning, “had gone to the hospital for other reasons where the Kovid-19 probe today confirmed the infection to be infected.”

Mukherjee said in the tweet, “I request that all those who have come in contact with me in the last one week, should themselves go in isolation and get the Covid-19 checked.”

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh visited R&R Hospital and inquired about the health of the former President. He remained in the hospital for about 20 minutes.
