Mathura: The festival of Holi (Holi 2022) is celebrated across the country. People are celebrating the festival of Holi by applying a color abir. Holi is also being celebrated in Vrindavan, UP. It is believed about Holi that the tradition of celebrating it as a festival of colors started from the time of Lord Krishna. It is said that Shri Krishna used to celebrate Holi with colors in Mathura. He used to play Holi with his friends in Vrindavan and Gokul, after which Holi came to be celebrated as the festival of colors.
This is the reason why the festival of Holi in Vrindavan is still unmatched. The festival of Holi is celebrated here for weeks. On the next day after Holika Dahan, all seven types of Holi of Braj were played in the Banke Bihari temple. Falgun’s songs also came alive when the hydraulic pitcher rained color in the temple premises packed with devotees.
