After the release, Mehbooba Mufti’s official Twitter account tweeted her daughter Iltija Mufti that- “As the illegal detention of Mrs Mufti is over, I would like to thank all those who supported me in these difficult times. I you I thank everyone. Now I leave it to you. May Allah protect you. “

Iltija was tweeting from her Twitter account from 20 September 2019 after Mehbooba Mufti was detained.

Let me tell you that for the last more than a year, her daughter Iltija had also approached the Supreme Court demanding the release of the arrested Mehbooba Mufti. On which on September 29, the apex court had asked the Center that how long and with what order the Center wants to detain former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. The court asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who appeared in the court on behalf of the Center, to file a reply on the revised application filed by Mehbooba Mufti’s daughter Iltija within a week.

Farooq and Omar Abdullah were released in March
The central government had last year detained leaders of the National Conference, PDP and several local parties, who were released from time to time with conditions, before withdrawing the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

The government also detained former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah (Farooq Abdullah) and his son Umar Abdullah (Omar Abdullah) last year under the Public Safety Act. On March 13 this year, Farooq Abdullah and on March 24, Omar Abdullah were released. However, the period of Mehbooba Mufti’s detention was being extended continuously.

On July 31, the Jammu Kashmir administration extended the detention of the Mufti under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for another three months.
