New Delhi: Another patient of the new variant XE of Corona has been found in India. This new case has been found in Gujarat. Health Ministry sources have confirmed this. At present, no information has been given about the condition of the infected patient. According to sources, this patient is a resident of Gotri area of Vadodara. The corona test of this 60-year-old man came positive on March 11. After this his sample was sent for genome sequencing. It was later discovered that they contained parts of the XE variant. According to sources, no information has been received about whether this person has traveled outside the state or not.
The first case of XE variant in the country was found in Mumbai. That is, now two cases of XE have been found in India. Let us tell you that due to this new variant in China, a new wave of corona has come. According to WHO, the first case of this variant was found in Britain on 19 January.
First case in mumbai
A 50-year-old woman in Mumbai was infected with this new variant. However, it was a matter of relief that this woman did not have any symptoms of corona. She returned from South Africa on 10 February. According to the sero survey, out of 230 samples sent from Mumbai, 228 were of Omicron, one of Kappa and one of XE variant. Experts of the Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG) are continuously sequencing the sample’s genome to detect this new variant of the corona.
The XE variant is spreading in many countries
According to the WHO, the new Omicron variant named X e recombinant (BA.1-Ba.2) was first detected in the UK on 19 January and since then more than 600 cases have been confirmed. This new variant of Omicron looks more infectious than the previous variant of the corona virus.
How dangerous is this variant
Professor Dr. Gagandeep Kang, of Christian Medical College in Vellore, has said that the new XE variant is not a cause for concern as it is unlikely to be more severe than the other sub-variants of Omicron (BA.1 and BA.2). He said that
