New Delhi: The country’s largest oil marketing company Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has started diesel home delivery with Delhi-based startup Humsafar India. However, under this facility, customers can order a maximum of 20 liters of diesel while sitting at home. IOC has started door-step delivery of diesel in Safar 20 (Safar20) jerry cans in Patiala and Malerkotla in Punjab through the mobile app Fuel Humsafar App.

What and who will benefit from home delivery
Sanya Goyal, founder, and director of Humsafar India said that earlier customers had to buy diesel in barrels from retail shops. He had a lot of trouble with this. Also, diesel was wasted. At the same time, the Fuel Humsafar app provides the facility of easy ordering and tracking of fuel. Small industries, malls, hospitals, banks, construction sites, farmers, mobile towers, educational institutions as well as small industries will benefit from this new service.

Where doorstep delivery has started
IOC said that the home delivery service is available in the entire NCR including Uttar Pradesh, including Uttarakhand, Haryana, Maharashtra, Assam, Kerala, Gujarat, Goa, Noida, Delhi, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad. The company said that this service is for those customers who want diesel in less than 20 liters.

How were IOC’s second-quarter results?
IOC’s net profit for the second quarter of FY 2021-22 increased to Rs 6,360.05 crore. The company had a net profit of Rs 5,941.37 crore in the April-June 2021 quarter. The company sold 19 million tonnes of oil during the July-September 2021 quarter. Its sales stood at 17.70 million tonnes in the same quarter of the last financial year. The company’s refineries converted 152 million tonnes of crude oil into the fuel during the quarter. In the same quarter of the last financial year, this figure was 13.90 million tonnes.
