New Delhi: Samples from 6 people returning from the UK have been found positive with the UK variant genome (Coronavirus In India). Of these, 3 Nimhans are admitted in Bengaluru, 2 CCMB Hyderabad, and 1 NIV Pune.
All the infected have been kept isolated in the dedicated medical facility by the state governments. Those who have come in contact with them have also been quarantined. Along with this, a tracing campaign has been started for those traveling with them, family contacts and others. According to the information, genome sequencing of other samples is also happening.
Information was given that the status of all the infected is being monitored. Along with this, regular advice is being given to the states for surveillance, maintenance, testing and dispatch of samples in INSACOG laboratories.
