One of the most successful captains in the world, MS Dhoni has played 90 Tests, 350 ODIs and 98 T20 matches in his 16-year international career. Under his leadership, MS Dhoni, the only captain in the world to have given the team all three major ICC titles, has several world records.

The only captain in the world to have won all three major ICC titles:
MS Dhoni is the only captain in the world who has led the team to all three major ICC titles under his leadership. MS Dhoni led India to the title of T20 World Cup by defeating Pakistan on 24 September 2007. After this, India won the ODI World Cup by defeating Sri Lanka on 2 April 2011 under his leadership. MS Dhoni then handed India the ICC Champions Trophy title on 23 June 2013 and got his name recorded in history.

Highest stumping in international cricket:
MS Dhoni holds the world record for highest stumping in international cricket (Test, ODI and T20). He has 195 stumpings in 538 international matches. This record will rarely be broken. Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) is second with 139 stumpings.

Captaincy in most international matches:
MS Dhoni also holds the record for leading the team in most international matches. He has led Team India in 332 International matches. Ricky Potting was the captain in 324 matches, during which he led Australia and the ICC XI.

Wicketkeeper’s highest score in International ODI:
MS Dhoni holds the record for the highest score by a wicket-keeper in an international one-day match. He scored an unbeaten 183 runs against Sri Lanka in Jaipur on 31 October 2005. He broke the record of Adam Gilchrist (172).

The only batsman to win a World Cup title with a six:
MS Dhoni is counted among the best finishers in the world. He is the only batsman in the world to win a World Cup title hitting a six. He achieved this feat against Sri Lanka in the 2011 World Cup final. He made India the World Champion for the second time, hitting six off Nuwan Kulasekara’s ball.

Most unbeaten in international ODIs:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is seen as the best finisher and his figures are a witness to this. The 39-year-old Dhoni has played 297 innings in 350 International ODIs so far and is unbeaten 84 times. This is the record for any non-bowler cricketer. Dhoni has returned many of these times only to win the team.

Team commanded in most 6 T20 World Cups:
MS Dhoni has a unique record of leading Team India to the name of 6 T20 World Cup. He is the only captain to do this feat. He made India the champion in the first T20 World Cup in 2007. At that time, the young Indian team led by Dhoni defeated Pakistan in the final.
